PSA for gaming fans: You can now buy the PlayStation VR2 and the Horizon: Call of the Mountain Bundle Pack at a hugely discounted price!
Here’s everything you need to know and how to get it.
The Sony PlayStation VR2 is one of the newer additions to the virtual reality gaming world, only compatible with the PlayStation 5. It is currently available to purchase in both the standard VR2, as well as the Horizon Bundle pack.
NOTE: Prices are accurate at time of publishing.
Not only will you get the PlayStation VR2, but also Horizon: Call of the Mountain all cheaper than buying the console alone! Don’t miss out on this massive deal and score your bundle pack today for $330 off.
The PlayStation VR2 has an easy connection to get the console addition started. Simply insert the USB cable into the PlayStation 5 console, it will connect and the player will be ready to see their favourite games in a whole new way.
With so many different features included in the PS VR2, these are the top inclusions on this set.
Made up of two 2000 x 2040 OLED displays, the VR2 has high-definition visuals for the best possible gameplay experience.
This feature follows where your eyes are looking while playing the game. This will help determine what your avatar in-game sees as well. For example, if you are being charged from the left of the screen, but you (the player) are looking towards the right of the screen, your avatar will be looking the same way and will react according to what they see and when.
This makes your direct line of sight predominately in focus and less focused on your peripheral vision, making it seem like you are actually seeing through the eyes of your avatar.
With an adjustable Fresnel lens, the player will be able to customise the spacing between the two lenses, which is set to optimise the image seen on screen by matching the screens to your personal eye positions.
When using the controllers, it will be able to detect where your fingers are placed, even when you’re not pressing any buttons. This can help with accurate timing and responses when playing.
This feature creates what PlayStation describes as a “realistic soundscape” – meaning you will hear everything at the sound levels and distance you should. For example, when you hear a character whisper it will feel and sound like someone whispering in your ear. Or if there is a gunshot in the distance, you will not hear it as clearly but as it should sound if there were a gunshot far away.
To help make it sound realistic, the headset itself adapts to the position of the player’s head and how you move it while playing – so every noise, sound and voice sounds immersed in the gameplay, which can set a genuine 3D listening experience.
This feature helps make movement feel real through vibrations from the headset. For example, if an arrow flies past the avatar’s head, the vibrations will make it feel like the arrow has flown past the player’s head.
A haptic response is a physical sensation based on your actions in-game. For example, if you are shooting a gun, once the avatar has shot it, the player will feel a gun-like kickback from the controller in charge of the gun it was shot from.
This adds a sense of physical tension to the player’s actions via the controllers. For example, if the avatar is pulling back a bow to shoot an arrow, the player will feel the tension and resistance that creates.
The controllers are set to have an orb-like, ergonomic design with analogue sticks, action buttons and a ‘grip’ button to help the avatar’s actions replicate your own.
There are two options to choose from when ordering your new PlayStation VR2.
NOTE: Prices are accurate at time of publishing.
If you’re after a deal, this option is the ‘Horizon Call of the Mountain bundle’, which has all the same features as the PlayStation VR2.
The only difference from the standalone set is that it comes with a PlayStation store voucher code to redeem the game Horizon Call of the Mountain. So when you set up your new VR2, you’ll be ready to start playing.
You can also grab the virtual reality kit on its own. However, it costs a little more than the bundle.
Included in this package are the following items:
And while you’re there, you might want to add this to cart…
This option does not come with the VR console or any games. Rather, it is a separate and additional charging station to free up a USB port on the device. It has a click-in design so it can power up without being connected by a cord to the console.
